a.k.a. He's A Dream
In July 2001 Foxfield was given a handsome roan gelding by the name of “Pilgrim.” He had been Abbie Joyce's but was a bit too much for her at that time. Tami Hartman fell in love with him and even leased him for awhile. She gave him his show name because that was what she thought of riding this special horse.
In 2006 camper Lauren Moore wrote that
Pilgirm is the most wonderful horse I have ever ridden. He's kind, honest and not to mention gorgeous! I have gone to summer camp at Foxfield for two years now and each year I have ridden him. The first time I ever rode Pilgrim I was a little nervous. The moment I started jumping him, I fell in love. He is a little lazy at first, but once you get him going he is a pleasure to jump. This past year I rode Pilgrim on wire day. After the lesson I came back to the barn with a huge smile on my face. It was the funnest lesson I had at camp. Pilgrim jumped everything perfectly, and not to mention, he was quite comfortable bareback.
Ashley Robinson said that “he is a very sweet horse and is a very good riding horse. We rode in the camp shows and we did very good. If it weren't for him we wouldn't have done so good! He is just like his show name, 'He's a Dream.' She described him as being “very smooth, but a little slow before he is warmed up. He is a great jumper and he loves doing the jumps. He is sooooo awesome!”
Although Pilgrim was leased by both Mallory Hames and Amanda Gohari, he has spent the majority of his time in the school and has been very popular, especially with adults who want a smooth ride. As with all our special horses, Foxfield is most grateful for Pilgrim!
