(a.k.a. As You Wish) by Carolyn Leavitt
If any horse could be perfect, it would be Mia. Mia is about 16hh and is fleabitten gray. She has a pretty, long forelock. She has front shoes and a neat, short mane. I think she is the prettiest horse at the barn. Sometimes she will answer to the name of "Ghost." Mia
Riding Mia is a little like riding a ghost. She is so fast and smooth that she feels like she is galloping air. She is so "airy" that she just seems to fly by the other horses. In fact, she is so fast that I have learned to use my seat and hands more than I usually do. Mia is very good jumping. When I jump she "flies" again because she is so eager to do it right. She has a perfect jump. She is smooth and doesn't jump too big or too small. She has never refused before, which lets me feel like I've done a good job and that I can jump bigger on her.
Mia, personally, has a wonderful disposition. Mia will look at me when I call her by name or by her nickname of Ghost, and is one of those horses who will pick up her feet when you try to pick them out. Mia likes being scratched and tickled on her shoulder, but is ticklish on her sides and stomach. Mia overall is a great riding horse.
Mia is a Thoroughbred. Despite Mia's love for speed, she was never on the racetrack. She came to Foxfield in the year of 1994. She came from a place called Grey Fox Farm. Mia was a Show-star in 1994, but an injury to the hock in a stall accident sent her to the ranch for a year. Mia is a great horse for children who aren't scared, and is a great teacher.
Carolyn Leavitt is 11years old and has been riding for three years. She rides in the 9:00 dressage ring lesson on Saturdays.
