Lynette
In 1994 Moorpark College closed its Equine Program and sold all the horses. Foxfield was lucky enough to purchase a few good ones for the school. Among them was a pretty grey Arabian mare named Lynette.
Here's a testimonial from one of Lynette's fans:
I was a former camper at Foxfield who absolutely loved the place. My experience there my first year was so extraordinary because of this horse. She can be a bugger sometimes and really enjoyed stepping on my feet but to ride her was a joy. I know many can't stand her moody attitude but the two of use clicked instantly. This camp was my first true time jumping, other than silly logs in a southern Colorado ranch/horse camp. I remember being thrown from this horse's back one day and crashing into the jump. She did everything she could not to fall on me and thankfully she didn't. We still got along great and when I came back the following year, though I didn't get to ride her, she would always come say 'hi' to me and not most of the other campers. I love this horse and wish I could bring her home to Colorado!
She was a dream, especially in dressage.

Yes, Lynette has her followers, and was even leased in the past by both Erica Dicterow and Liz Deutsch.
She has spent most of her time as a school horse, but what she excels in is drill! She has performed in Minneapolis, Louisville, Scottsdale, Santa Rosa and Bishop, among other places. Since she was so well schooled on the wire, Amanda Rouse decided to train her to do a solo routine, and she took to it immediately. Now Shannon Greulich is the one taking Lynette through her paces.
She still works just about every day in the Dressage Ring and still challenges riders to get her to jump all her fences, but she can be a real teacher. If you work hard enough and are patient and kind enough, Lynette will pay you back with her knowlege.
