This handsome TB gelding knew his way around Foxfield long before he became part of the school in 2001. At one time he was owned by Kathryn Read, who boarded him here and consistently won junior medals and equitation classes on him.

A few years later he was donated by former camper Gretta Welterlan, who had a lot of success on him as well.

C.C. Plues leased and loved this special horse for a long time, and before that he was leased by Nancy Joseph. Since then he has proven to be an invaluable asset to the school and has gained many fans.

Former camper Sara Parks remembers him as being reliable and kind. "He increased my confidence more in two weeks (especially in jumping!) than any other horse or trainer could do for me in several years...still, to this day, I think of him fondly and have a picture of him framed on my dresser.”

Camper Sarah Harnage describes him as “an amazing bay horse” who "is a little bumpy (to ride), but he has smooth flying lead changes." And Clare Hatch wrote that he is a “sweet bay with a heart of gold.” She said he was perfect in both combined training and her camp show last summer. Lily Weaks wrote that Gregory “is smooth on the trot has a canter that is softer than a cloud. His jumps are like flying and he will do everything you tell him. He will never refuse and loves to ride in the ring."

We will be forever grateful for this one-of-a-kind addition. As Taylor Meza wrote, “anyone who has the honor of riding this wonderful horse has been blessed by Foxfield. He is the best horse that I have ever ridden at Foxfield. And I know that a lot of people in the past said that too."
