Foxfield - Frankie

I can still remember our first lesson together; From the second we walked into the main ring, I felt like a queen, still in awe that I had been extended the privilege of riding the one and only Frankie. I was lucky enough to call him mine for just under three wonderful years, over the course of which I learned everything this show veteran had to offer me.

Frankie took me to jumper championships, medal finals, even my very first Foxfield Jumping Derby, where we challenged his perpetual fear of water. I’d always found it hard to believe that this magnificent animal was afraid of anything, but whatever we did, Frankie poured his heart into it and took care of me all the way.

It was to my delight to hear that Frankie was the most sought after school horse for the recent Spring Fun show, proving that he is still one of the best teachers any student could hope to have.

So here’s to you, my handsome boy! I love you!

Now he spends his time in the Hitchcock Ring teaching people the fundamentals. He is content there because, as Molly says, he has so much to teach and is more than willing to show riders how it is done.
