Dallas arrived at Foxfield in February 2002 and was a star from the beginning. Many advanced riders have enjoyed taking lessons on this special thoroughbred gelding. Last September we decided to take him out of the school and lease him to a girl who loved him, Chrissy Zicarelli. Chrissy nominated him as School Horse of the Month and so did Allie. Here are their write-ups:
Dallas is a dark bay with an attitude. He isn’t very nice, but once I rode him I fell in love with him, and I think that everybody should get to ride him. After you get used to him, he isn’t mean, but it is just him.
He has really nice gates and a nice jump. Once you get on Dallas, you forget he was ever mean. He likes to go faster than slower, so he is good for jumpers, and would be great for cross country.
Dallas is so great because he is a great ride, and after you ride you just fall in love with him. He is also very handsome. -Allie, age 14
Dallas is a beautiful dark bay with a gorgeous black mane and tail. He is a very friendly horse who loves attention. He acts like a puppy dog and will dig into your pockets for carrots if he can smell them. He loves to go when it comes to jumping, and he has really smooth gaits. It took him awhile to perfect them, but he’s now able to do flying lead changes at the slightest request.
I think Dallas is great because he has a wonderful disposition, and he would love to get into your lap if he were allowed to. Chrissy Zicarelli, age 15 December, 2004
