a.k.a. “The Cisco Kid”
Cisco was generously donated to Foxfield many years ago by Sandy Nielsen, and for that we will be eternally grateful. He was named after the wonderful horse in the movie Dances with Wolves, and from the start was a favorite Cisco was immediately leased by a succession of good riders, including Jessica Feldman, Jessie White, Liz Deutsch and Amanda Rouse. It was obvious that he had been well schooled, and helped all his riders to success in the show ring, particularly in medal classes.
Cisco was also taught “wire” and performed several performances with the drill team.
After several years in the show ring, Cisco spent some time at Foxfield North Ranch just being a horse. After his return he made an easy transition to the school where he helped innumerable riders continue their education. He was always one of the first horses to be chosen for lessons and had a reputation as a very dependable mount.
Having never lost her love for this gentle fellow, Sandy Nielsen has been caring for Cisco for the past couple of years, feeding him supplements and keeping a watchful eye over him. Thank you, Sandy.
We will miss you, Cisco, and hope you enjoy Heaven with the other great horses we have had the fortune to have here at Foxfield.
