Bootie

Winter Wishes
Holly Scapa brought Bootie to Foxfield in the early nineties and rode this fabulous thoroughbred in equitation, hunters and jumpers. The pair was very successful in all types of classes and Bootie was always a superstar in the ring.
In 1994 Holly decided to sell Bootie to 12-year-old Marcelle Howard, who went on to win class after class on this special gelding. Their victories included the 12 and under and 17and under SFVHSA Medal Finals. The pair won year-end awards consistently from PCHA, LAHSA and SFVHSA and were definitely "the ones to beat" at any horse show at the time.
When Marcelle went off to college in the Midwest, Bootie moved to Orange County where he was a pleasure horse. In early 2005, Debra Howard called to ask if Foxfield was interested in putting him in the school, and the rest is history, as they say.
As 10-year-old Taylor Meza wrote in her nomination, "he is sweet and he jumps anything you want him to! He is smooth and when he jumps, he never will knock a rail down."
Needless to say, we are extremely fortunate to have such a special school master here at Foxfield.
