Blue

When Jessie White went with her father to pick up Blue for Foxfield, she was amazed that he lived in a small backyard in Burbank in a stall that was right next to a swimming pool! Since this was the first horse she had ever been sent to try out, she was a little nervous, but the minute she got on his back, she knew he would be perfect for the school.

Blue

Blue was such a good horse that his owner had a very hard time giving him away. That was in May 2000 and Blue (whose show name at the time was "Moonshadows") has been a mainstay in the Hitchcock Ring ever since, taking care of green riders, young and old alike.

He has a real fan in Lu Farmer, who wrote this about him:

He is a big blue roan who is pretty much in charge of things in his paddock. He is a good feeling horse and has been seen to play hard and kick up his heels, just feeling good. He is also very much aware of what he feels is his main job, which is to take care of his rider. Blue gives courage to new riders because he makes them feel safe, and because they feel safe, older riders will try new things with him. I have had the pleasure of working through new dressage movements with Blue, and he was always ready to learn and do something new. We even entered a dressage class at a show! He has become a treasured friend and has given me much pleasure.

Eight-year-old Sara Tilley nominated Blue as Horse of the Month. She wrote:

Blue is a big old gentleman. He is very sweet. He has taught me a lot. He is very well trained and smooth to ride. He will do whatever I ask him to do. He has a great personality and he seems happy to give me lessons. He likes his job so much that he wants to do it all the time." That about sums up this very special guy!
