Last summer Maddi Brown, who is eleven years old and rode in the Hitchcock Ring, nominated Blinky with the following write-up:
Blinky is a very sweet and kind horse and will jump anything you steer him to. I have ridden some horses that are very cautious of what they jump but not Blinky. When I was still in a western saddle I never rode Blinky but now that I am in an English saddle and am jumping Blinky is a great horse ro ride!
Blinky is very competitive but when you are going faster than another horse or pony he will not pass them. He thinks it is rude, but that is fine with me. I like to take my time. He has a very smooth trot and canter. I love Blinky!
Blinky came to Foxfield many years ago after a successful career as a hunter and equitation horse, where he put many riders in the ribbons and was loved dearly. His last owner had to give him up because it was time for college, so Foxfield found a new friend.
He is used almost daily in the Hitchcock Ring and is very valuable to the school, especially since he is big and can be used for adults as well as children. He is a sweet horse who is easy to work around and a joy to ride.

We don’t have a picture of Blinky in his “showing days” but as you can see by this photo, he is still a handsome guy!
