Ben

Ben has been at Foxfield since the early 90's and was leased a couple of times, but his real job is as "school master."

Countless riders have learned their basics with the help of this special horse, and we are grateful to have him.

When Ben is out, without exception, some young beginning rider will cheer "Look, there's Ben!" and give him a great big hug around the neck, which he graciously accepts. Other times riders will come up and tell stories about Ben jumping, summer camp, horse shows, ribbons won and treasured memories.

It is safe to say that Ben's tried and true spirit has immeasurably touched Foxfield.

He is a terrific horse in every way. He is gentle and kind, but can really get a good canter going if you let him know that you want it. My mom says that Ben is a true gentleman in every sense of the word and she loves when I ride him (I think it makes her feel that I am safe).

I love Ben and am always happy to ride or even just be around him. He can always make me smile.
